Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a clean, organized and sanitary work environment during each shift
  • Assist with truck opening and closing for each shift
  • Assist with cleaning truck daily at end of each service
  • Operating POS system
  • Cash Handling
  • Taking orders and interacting with customers in a positive and meaningful way
  • Interacting and communicating clearly with cooks to assure efficient service
  • Will be expected to understand our menu thoroughly in order to best direct customer orders based on taste and dietary needs
  • May, on occasion, be expected to drive food truck


Qualifications

  • A positive, upbeat and friendly attitude
  • Must love interacting with people and Jamaican food
  • Prior experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Recent experience handling a cashier ideal but not required
  • Strong willingness to learn and improve
  • You must be service driven and enjoy interactions with customers. You'll also be positive and patient, neat & clean, and possess good communication skills and work well with others
  • Reliable transportation to job locations

Driver/Line Cook


We are looking for an experienced line cook and trustworthy individual who will also be required to drive our food truck to services and events around the Bay Area, ranging from San Francisco to East Bay and Contra Costa County. We are looking for someone who can multitask, work well under pressure (in a fast-paced environment) and a team player. The ideal candidate must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Multi task commercial cooking equipment (grill, stove top simmering, convection oven)
  • Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen
  • Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas, and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards
  • Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and ensure that appropriate sanitation, maintenance, and safety standards are followed
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on schedule
  • Will drive truck from our commissary (currently in Richmond and will move to San Francisco) to commercial kitchen in San Francisco and then out to various events throughout the Bay Area

 Lead Cook / Food Truck Coordinator

We are looking for a responsible, friendly, good-spirited lead cook /food truck coordinator to run our day to day truck and culinary operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating meal portions, cleaning food, cooking meals and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the foodservice industry and is committed to proper food presentation and garnishing, which is key to our customer service success.

This person will also be responsible for managing the day to day requirements for running the food truck and ensuring it is adequately stocked and ready for service.

  • Operation of food truck cooking equipment; grill, warmer, steam table system and oven
  • Load in and load out all prepped items for daily service
  • Refilling truck propane and gas as needed
  • Stocking all truck food inventories
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and sanitary work environment during each shift
  • Cleaning truck daily at end of each service
  • Interacting and communicating clearly with staff to assure efficient service
  • Works to ensure consistency in quality, portions, and presentation to achieve service goals
  • Engage with guests on occasion; receive and deliver orders and provide excellent customer service
  • Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards
  • Cleans, organizes and maintains walk-in refrigerator, dry storage area and overall kitchen space at the truck commissary
  • Maintains prep area in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
  • Cleaning; including dishwashing and basic maintenance of the commissary kitchen
  • May, on occasion, be expected to drive food truck
  • Passionately and continually seeks ways to improve the Truck’s product, service, and overall operations


Qualifications

  • Must have Food Safety Handlers’ Certificate in current standing

 Prep Cook


We are looking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in our kitchen in Rincon Center, in downtown SF financial district. Our company is growing and we would love to have you work with us! You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.

A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. Must be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and cutting of poultry, beef, pork in a timely manner
  • Using commercial equipment for food prep and cleaning
  • Prepare dishes from start to finish
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned


Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years experience as prep cook
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen (food handler certification required upon hire)
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and improve on the job
  • Ability to transport self to job location at our commercial kitchen in Rincon Center, SF
